WEEK 14 BUMPDATE

How Far Along? 14 weeks!!

Weight Gain? Nope! I actually lost about 12 pounds after becoming pregnant (thanks morning sickness) so if anyone is looking for a good diet plan so far pregnancy has been great! But within the last week or so I have started gaining that back! So I am sure I will be packing on the pounds soon.

Maternity Clothes? Nope! But pants are becoming more uncomfortable. I really don't enjoy things pressing on my belly.

Sleep? Sleep is the one thing I have NOT had a problem with. I sleep so much and it is so wonderful. I also am still able to sleep on my stomach which is really nice.

Best moment this week? So now that my belly isn't flat anymore and there is defintiely a little bump/bloat there I have gotten a little more self conscious in a swimsuit. Just cuz it isn't obvious I am preggers, I could just have a belly. We went to the pool on Saturday and Scott brought What to Expect When You're Excepting to read so everyone would know I was pregnant. He is too sweet sometimes.

Weird pregnancy moment? Oh my goodness there have been so many of these. I think I need to do a separate post about all the "pregnancy" things that happened in the first trimester.

Morning Sickness? I have always had this phobia of throwing up. Like I really really hate it and would pretty much do whatever it takes to not throw up. So because of that, I have only thrown up a handful of times in my life. I kind of figured my pregnancy would be like that but nooooooo. Starting around week 6 I got to experience it in full swing! Honestly it has been pretty horrible (hi I threw up 26 times in about 21 hours and wanted to die) but if this is what I have to do to get a healthy baby then I will do it!

Movement? Nope! When do you start feeling that?

Food Cravings? Haha it is more like "ok what can I eat that won't make me throw up this second." It's been sad but I really haven't liked food all that much. In fact the only thing that I have enjoyed eating is mint chocolate chip ice cream! So besides that I have mostly lived off of PB&J, cheerios, saltines, and green apples.

Anything making you queasy?
Meat and eggs. And pretty much everything else. Scott thinks its funny that I can just think of something and know it would make me sick. There have been multiple times where I have had to tell Scott to stop talking about certain foods because just the thought makes me throw up! I think the saddest thing is that I really can't stand the thought of In-n-out. Please pray that sounds good to me soon.

Gender: Girl! Call it mothers intuition but I am pretty sure it's a girl!

What I’m looking forward to:
Finding out the gender! And getting more energy back. And getting a bigger bump! So everyone can know I am pregnant!!

BABY CASSCOTT

WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!

Scott and I are so so excited and also so so terrified. It still doesn't seem real. But I hear that it never really does?

I am the type of person who always likes to have a plan and the case was no different when it came to our future children. I always had this idea in my head of waiting 5 years before having a baby. Well last February Scott and I shared an experience that is a little too personal to write here, but it left me questioning if we needed to start our family sooner. I remember later that day a friend on facebook shared some article called "to my baby's daddy" and it was incredibly cheesy and made me cry so hard. I called Scott up right after that and told him that we needed to really talk about the possibility of having a baby sooner than we thought.

I remember walking down our street in Richmond and Scott saying "I mean I guess we are as ready as we will ever be!" and being so excited but also so scared. Did you know that you usually don't get pregnant the first time you try? That was news to me but it was also a really good learning lesson for my planner self. After being pretty disappointed the first month (not really because I wasn't pregnant but more because things didn't go according to my plan...lol) we decided to adopt the mentality of "we aren't trying but we also aren't not trying" if that makes sense. It ended up being much more enjoyable and stress free for me, and took a lot of pressure off that I put on myself.  Fast forward about a year later and our little baby casscott will be here in 6 months!!!

I am really excited to document this whole pregnancy journey here on this blog and our youtube channel. I love reading other peoples bumpdates so hopefully other people will find some interest in mine? I also want to be as real as possible because even though I am so so so excited to be pregnant, it has been HARD so far. And I think it's important to share the good and the bad.

Stay tuned for my first bumpdate! I just have to wait for my bump to come in first...

SEDONA

My parents gifted us a weekend away for Christmas last year and we decided to use it to celebrate Scott's birthday! The older I get the more I really prefer experiences over things! It was so nice to just be with Scott for the weekend without any distractions. I love exploring new places with him and I can't wait to continue doing so. We are really trying to make an effort to get out and see more of Arizona so it was nice to check Sedona off the bucketlist!

We made a little video while we were there. We are also only SEVEN subscribers away from 100!!! It's crazy to me that there are 100 people who care enough about us to actually subscribe to our little channel! Making these videos is so much fun for us and I can't wait for some fun ones we have coming up... we may or may not be going on a safari in the next few weeks...

A NOT SO GHOST TOWN

the cutest little family ever

At the beginning of January we headed up to Goldfield Ghost Town with our friends Caitlin and Jonny and their cute baby Carson. I was originally going to wait to post these photos until I finished editing the video to go with them, but my hard drive decided to die and the footage was one of the few things I hadn't gotten around to backing up :(

Goldfield was pretty cool but also pretty crowded. We didn't pay to any of the attractions but we still had fun walking around and holding Carson. Oh I lied. Jonny and Scott paid $2 to play a shooting game which we had video of but no pictures. We then headed up to another "ghost town" called Tortilla Flat and it was probably three buildings and not even worth a picture. But the drive up there was really pretty. Did you guys know the part of Arizona are actually green? I didn't!

Also checking in on my New Years blogging goal... I mean it could be worse! I have already blogged three times! Let's see if I can double that by the end of the month...
