ZOO

5 things I learned after going to the zoo.

1. Not only does Scott LOVE animals, and I mean really love, he is like a walking animal planet. He knows SO MUCH about all the animals.

2. When I would go to the zoo as a kid, I never understood those people who would bring their cameras and take pictures of the animals. Yesterday, I was that person.

3. Taking pictures at the zoo will be much more fun (and probably funner (?) to look at) when we have kids. So they can be in them too.

4. You can see the whole zoo in less than a day but you will need a foot massage when you get home.

5. My brother-in-law, who designed many of the exhibits at the zoo, is crazy talented. And is the reason we got to go in the first place. Free tickets!

Can anyone actually use these?

One of the first things we saw was a condor being fed. It was disgusting because he was tearing apart dead rats, but still pretty cool.

Oh heyyy random child.

If I were an elephant this is where you would find me.

Ok I know that is not a very good picture but THE LION WAS SLEEPING RIGHT UP AGAINST THE GLASS. It was HUGE!

My favorite animal wasn't very exciting that day but I had to post the picture anyways.

If you haven't seen baby red panda playing in the snow- youtube it now!

Ok I will make it easy for you. Click here

Ignoring his wife. Just kidding my feet were killing me so I told him to text his friends back so I could sit longer.

Are you tired of animal pictures yet?

TOO BAD.

The gorilla just posted up on the glass.

And another random child.

I see you Scott.

My husband, the expert photographer everyone.

So green. So beautiful.

And now, a picture of a monkey to end on.

Can't believe we have one day left in beautiful San Diego :(

EMERALD ISLE

Scott's family has been going to the beach in North Carolina every summer for pretty much forever.

I was lucky enough to tag along this year to experience my first Emerald Isle Hiatt family vacation and it was a BLAST.

We played in the sand, went mini golfing, bowling, bumper boats,  hit up the aquarium, ate so much food, played games, enjoyed the water...

It was pretty much perfect

Don't worry we documented the whole thing but the pictures are all over the place though so sorry!

our view from dinner

The beautiful wall decor in our bedroom.

We finally had an excuse to use our go pro.

When we kayaked over to shark tooth island

A lot of the pictures we took were either blurry or had water drops over the lens... hehe whoops

We hunted for sharks teeth. I wasn't too good at it.

But Scott's brother found one. So here is a picture I made Scott take so it looks like he found it.

Pretty cool though right?

We got back in the kayak and paddled around for what felt like a million bazillion miles

While stopping on little beaches to rest. And play with the go pro.

I couldn't get over how beautiful the scenery was

And how calm the water was.

While we were paddling around, the rest of the family was much more dedicated in searching for sharks teeth.

Selfies for dayzzzz

We made time for bowling

I AM SO BAD AT BOWLING.

But I got a strike so that's all the matters right?

Elise, Sara and I tried out the Hurricane Simulator. It just made me really cold.

Aaaand of course we had to make cake bites... for like the tenth time this summer.

Just pretend it looks perfect.

I couldn't get over how cute all the multi color houses were.

One day we will own one.

Even though we lived on the beach we had to end every day with jumping in the pool

There was lots of jumping into the pool

We were all so hot and sweaty after mini golfing so we did bumper boats and got absolutely SOAKED!

I thought I wasn't a very good driver because all my boat would do was spin in circles but then I realized it was broken.

So while everyone was having fun I was getting dizzy.

But it's cool cuz I could still squirt people.

The aftermath.

We played settlers every night and sometimes during the day too. ADDICTED.

Shout out to the Garfield's for teaching us their ways.

And now a million beach pictures.

This little girl has my heart.

Our fav beach game was getting my legs buried in the sand.

We will miss you Emerald Isle!
