General Conference is already one of my favorite weekends of the year, because not only do you get to hang in your pjs all day and eat more than your weight in sweets, but you also get to hear the words of our beloved prophet and his apostles. It is always so uplifting and exactly what I need.
Even better, this conference weekend, Scott's parents came into town!
It was so much fun having them in Utah- and we sure packed it with as much as we could.
On Friday we started the day with a session at the Salt Lake Temple.
And then made a stop at Tucanos for lunch.
I know... great photos.
But we were too into our food to really take pictures so this was the best I got.
We then got a tour of the capitol building from Sharon's friend.
Maybe I am just a terrible Utah resident but I had never been before... and it is BEAUTIFUL!
We got to go in all the rooms and the lounges... made me want to consider a future in politics if it meant I got to spend so much time in that beautiful building.
Someone was taking there quinceanera pics so obvi I had to creep.
Vox Populi actually is not the name of the person who sits in the chair behind us. It means voice of the people.
If I am going to make this career in politics work, I have a lot to learn.
On the way to Provo we stopped at Scheels
Which is only like one of the coolest place ever!
Ferris Wheel in the middle of the store?
Scott and I are seriously having a date night there soon
We then spent the rest of the evening with Scott's friends and going grocery shopping.
Did I mention I love Scott's parents?
After the morning session of conference Saturday morning we met up with some of the Hiatt's friends, and my brother and his family who just happened to be in town!
Wish I could tell you what Scott was doing here...
Whenever Scott is with the girls, he becomes a giant jungle gym.
As you can tell, the girls were really excited to be with us.
Some last minute climbing before saying goodbye
We then went to the afternoon session of conference.
As much as I love being able to watch conference from the couch, there is something so special about being at the conference center.
We then met up with more friends.... I swear, Don and Sharon are the most popular people in Utah.
The boys headed off to the priesthood session and Sharon and I did what every other mother-in-law/daughter-in-law duo would do...
Went shopping, got dinner, took selfies, and bought matching sweaters.
The next day the Hiatt's came over to our little apartment for lunch
Where we wore our matching sweaters
And Scott made everyone burgers over the stove
We got our extremely healthy snacks ready
Watched the last session of conference
My nephew and his girlfriend came over after, and we watched a documentary that I worked on last May in CHINA!
I had seen it a couple weeks before but it was fun to watch it again with family.
I didn't think to take a picture of the credits, but thankfully a few other family members and friends did- my sister-in-law got the best pic,
So fun to see all the hard work that went into this doc come together so beautfiully.
I know I am only 22, but the experience I had working on that film was so amazing, that I would be satisfied if I never did anything as great as it again.
But let's hope I do!
After, we went to go see the progress on the new Provo City Temple
And then we took a walk around one of our favorite parks
Photographer Scott trying to get a good shot.
He is so talented.
Ok I guess this would have to be a favorite park because we actually got engaged here!
Scott was trying to reenact the moment.
And then we drove around a found a beautiful golf course on Provo Bay.
Did anyone else know there was such a thing as Provo Bay??
We had so much fun with Don and Sharon this weekend and were sad to see them go!
Can't wait to see them again in April!! FOR GRADUATION!!

Love this! Conference weekend is the best. Also, that park is wonderful. I've been there before and I love the boardwalk (that hardly anyone knows about) in the back. It's so beautiful!
