CHRISTMAS CARDS

Growing up, I have the best memories of dropping Christmas treats off with my parents.

Last year was crazy with finals and studying but this year,  since  I finished last week, I had nothing but time to follow in my parents footsteps!

I also know it's silly making a card that is just Scott and I but Shutterfly had a 60% off deal and I couldn't resist. I really wanted a more wintery pic in the snow but Utah has decided none of that this year! I heard it snowed yesterday though. I slept through it.

Side note:

When December hit I was dying to make our apartment feel somewhat Christmasy but due to lack of money and the fact that we won't be in the apartment for all of December, we settled on raiding the dollar store for some decorations.

Do not underestimate the dollar store. I also buy my nail polish there #truestory.

And yes our desk is actually the only thing that is decorated but that's ok.

Ok back to the treats.

I had the HARDEST time figuring out what to make. I wanted to give something yummy, but also holidayish. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone of always making cookies.

So I decided to make Rice Krispie treats... because who doesn't like Rice Krispies and then added chocolate and crushed candy canes because Christmas.

Also green sprinkles but I can't decide if that made them look better or worse.

I also made some white chocolate oreo ones but was too lazy to take any pictures.

How cute are these holiday bags?

We actually don't have this many friends. We teach a marriage and family relations class every Sunday and decided to give them to everyone that comes to our class! But they are our friends too. So we do have friends. HA.

I also ran out of ribbon

So I would say my first year as a Christmas crafty wife was a solid 7 out of 10. It was so fun and hopefully we make some friends when we move so I can improve next year!

Also Scott decided to twist his ankle playing basketball right before we went shopping to get all of this stuff.

Walmart decided to not have ANY of those handicap carts so I got to push Scott around in this.

It was not as easy (or as fun) as it looks. But like all difficult times it made our marriage stronger.

And Scott made it up to me by doing all the laundry AND reorganizing my terrible terrible closest. (Don't even get me started).

He must love me or something.

Less than a week til we get to go hoooooome!

Hope finals are treating everyone well!
