GUYS THIS IS NOT REAL GELATO! Well maybe it is but it was nowhere near as good as gelato from actually gelateria's. But it's ok, it was our first gelato of the trip so we enjoyed it.
Well all of my Lizzie McGuire fantasies were shattered to pieces when the we came to the Trevi Fountain only to find it completely under construction.
We arrived in Rome at eight in the morning, met up with Jonny and Caitlin (which I was a little worried about because foreign airports are weird), and somehow navigated our way to their hotel. We were planning on saving some money and all four of us sharing a room. We quickly found out that would definitely not be happening thanks to their hotel manager Tomasso aka our mortal enemy. So note to anyone traveling to Italy in group- sharing a hotel room is pretty much impossible because a) the hotels workers watch you like a hawk and b) they are so tiny there wouldn't really be anywhere to sleep besides four of you snuggling slash falling out of the bed. So even though our bank account had to take a hefty hit to pay for hotels for two weeks, it probably was for the best. Who knows maybe we would have hated Jonny and Caitlin if we had all been in one room. Jokes they are perfect.
So after the hotel fiasco was resolved starvation and jet lag set in so we quickly set out to explore Rome before falling asleep in our hotel. We spent the day exploring the Borghese Gardens where we got lost and saw lots of PDA. We then headed over to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. To be honest this was probably our least exciting day in Italy, So if you think these pictures aren't the beautiful Italy pictures you are looking for don't give up hope... They will be coming!!!
P.S.- you have to pay for water in Italy. Worst thing ever...

I love this you guys! This is so fun to read. Ok, I would hate paying for water! Love the street art! And dang Trevi fountain being closed!!
